Two Places

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:10

Each and every day, I wake up, and I place my gaze on the eternal. God’s Kingdom is coming. God’s kingdom is being established in the hearts of His people here on Earth. Even though this is a fallen world, God is still working here. In Heaven, He has established his perfect kingdom, and one day all his chosen subjects will join Him there.

Earth is a fallen wretched mess, our world harbors bitterness, resentment, pain and suffering, we can put hope that each day, God still moves here. As a followers of the True King, we make this world a little bit better. We remove the chaos, we work hard, and we provide resources. Our lives serve a purpose to be used at building the Kingdom here on earth.

This Kingdom isn’t a kingdom of wealth and power, but of humility and love. We don’t have exalt palaces of splendor, but we have hearts of flesh and not of stone. As king’s man, I am tearing down my life so He can build it up, I am laying bare the destruction, so He might make it a new. I am but a wretched fool, but I’m foolish for a kingdom that is working anew in my heart.

God sits on His throne in Heaven, we don’t fully comprehend such a place, but it is a place that exists. Jesus spoke of both Heaven and Hell, another place that exists. Though we don’t know, or can even comprehend the extents of the purity of heaven, God has placed in the hearts of all men an idea of purity, goodness, perfection. To this lofty goal, our purposes here should always be focused. Until God takes us to be with Him, in Heaven.

Lord, may my every breath, every focus of my day be on the eternal and not on the things of this earth. When Satan shoots his bitter arrows at me, may your righteousness be my protection. Lord may your Kingdom come, may your kingdom of goodness and righteousness be worked through me unto the whole world.
